Costiña's chocolate rocks are a beloved Spanish confection: crunchy nougat and roasted almond fragments bound in dark chocolate, each piece designed to shatter on the tongue. Made in Spain with straightforward ingredients, they deliver the texture contrast that makes Spanish chocolate treats distinct from smoother, modern alternatives.

About this product

These chocolate-covered nougat and almond clusters draw from traditional Spanish confectionery methods. The nougat base is lightly toasted and studded with whole almonds, then enrobed in chocolate and portioned into twelve pieces. Unlike hard turrón, the nougat core here is softer and more yielding, making each rock easy to bite through without cracking teeth or fillings.

How to enjoy

  • Pair with strong black coffee or an after-dinner brandy.
  • Break one into smaller fragments for a crunchy addition to vanilla ice cream.
  • Pack a piece or two in a bag for a mid-afternoon snack when you want something more substantial than chocolate alone.
  • Include in a gift box of Spanish sweets — this format (twelve individual pieces) makes portioning effortless.

⭐ Why we love this

Costiña captures the essence of Spanish confectionery craftsmanship — that prized contrast between crunchy nougat, whole roasted almonds, and dark chocolate that defines authentic pecan rocks from Spain's candy tradition. Each piece shatters satisfyingly without the jaw-breaking hardness of traditional turrón, making it the thinking person's chocolate treat.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Enjoy alongside a glass of aged brandy (coñac español) or strong espresso after dinner — the chocolate's bitterness and the nougat's subtle sweetness amplify both. For a lighter moment, pair with a chilled Fino sherry in the afternoon for an unexpected contrast that Spanish confectionery lovers cherish.

Customer Reviews

The USPS required a signature on the delivery. This was unknown to me. I had to drive 30+ mile to retrieve the item, vice delivery to my address.

Finca La Rosala Marcona Almonds with Rosemary – Roasted Spanish Snack – Pack of 2 (2 × 90g)

Store owner replied: Thank you for the five stars, James, and I'm sorry about that drive. Our parcels travel as tracked international post with Correos in Spain, and USPS takes over for delivery in the US. We don't ask for a signature when we post, but it turns out USPS releases these parcels against one. At most addresses that just means signing at the door; in your case the delivery didn't go through, so USPS held it at the nearest post office, and that cost you a long trip. The surprise is partly on us, so we're adding a clear line about it to our shipping information. We can't give you back the time, but to cover the fuel we'd like to offer you $15 off anything in the shop on your next order. - Mateo, Iberian Direct
