Rabitos Royale has perfected the art of pairing dark chocolate with Andalusian figs since 1880. Each bonbon wraps a whole dried fig — plump, chewy, and naturally sweet — in dark chocolate shell, creating a textural contrast that feels both indulgent and restrained. The set of eight is designed for sharing at the table or tucking into a gift box.

About this product

These are not filled chocolates but whole fig confections: the fig is the star, and the chocolate is its refined frame. La Higuera ("the fig tree") is Rabitos Royale's signature line, made in Andalusia using Spanish figs dried to exact moisture and then hand-enrobed. The dark chocolate is deep without being harsh, allowing the fig's natural tannins and sweetness to come through.

How to enjoy

  • Serve at room temperature with coffee or sherry after dinner.
  • Unwrap one slowly — the chocolate will slightly soften on your fingertips.
  • Pair with aged cheese, particularly Manchego or Idiazabal.
  • Break one in half to share and show the whole fig interior.
  • Store in a cool place; they keep for months.

⭐ Why we love this

Rabitos Royale represents the pinnacle of Spanish artisanal confectionery—a 140-year tradition of letting the fig speak. Rather than masking fruit beneath thick chocolate, La Higuera's philosophy honors Andalusian figs with minimal, refined intervention, creating bonbons that taste more like nature perfected than processed candy.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Serve with a glass of chilled Fino sherry or aged brandy after dinner—the wine's nuttiness complements the fig's depth while cutting the chocolate's richness. Alternatively, pair with a slice of aged Manchego cheese for a Spanish classic that echoes the existing serving suggestions.

📍 From Spain

Crafted in Andalusia, the heartland of Spanish fig cultivation, La Higuera uses dried figs sourced from the region's finest orchards and hand-enrobed with premium dark chocolate in Rabitos Royale's storied workshops. This 1880s Andalusian house remains devoted to single-ingredient honesty in an era of industrial complexity.

Customer Reviews

The USPS required a signature on the delivery. This was unknown to me. I had to drive 30+ mile to retrieve the item, vice delivery to my address.

Finca La Rosala Marcona Almonds with Rosemary – Roasted Spanish Snack – Pack of 2 (2 × 90g)

Store owner replied: Thank you for the five stars, James, and I'm sorry about that drive. Our parcels travel as tracked international post with Correos in Spain, and USPS takes over for delivery in the US. We don't ask for a signature when we post, but it turns out USPS releases these parcels against one. At most addresses that just means signing at the door; in your case the delivery didn't go through, so USPS held it at the nearest post office, and that cost you a long trip. The surprise is partly on us, so we're adding a clear line about it to our shipping information. We can't give you back the time, but to cover the fuel we'd like to offer you $15 off anything in the shop on your next order. - Mateo, Iberian Direct
