Turrón de las Monjas brings the convent tradition of Spanish nougat-making into a compact 180-gram bar. Handcrafted in small batches, this turrón balances toasted almonds and honey with a light, yielding crumb that speaks to generations of careful preparation. Unlike the dense, waxy turones found in supermarket bins, this one melts gently on the tongue.

About this product

Made using time-honored techniques passed down through Spain's monastic candy workshops, Turrón de las Monjas combines blanched almonds, honey, and egg white to create an airy, almost melt-in-mouth texture. The bar is neither too hard nor too soft — it yields to the bite without sticking to your teeth. A hint of vanilla or citrus zest (depending on the variant) lifts the honey's natural sweetness, making it sophisticated enough for after dinner yet accessible enough for a midday break.

How to enjoy

  • Break into pieces and serve with a small glass of sweet wine or amontillado sherry
  • Pair with fresh fruit — quince paste, orange slices, or figs complement the honey notes
  • Gift-wrap a bar as part of a Spanish gourmet selection
  • Store in a cool place and enjoy over several weeks; small portions satisfy

⭐ Why we love this

This is authentic turrón as Spain's convents have made it for centuries—no shortcuts, no industrial fillers. The airy crumb and perfect honey-almond balance represent the gold standard of Spanish nougat craftsmanship, a texture that simply cannot be rushed.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Serve alongside a glass of Amontillado sherry or a rich Pedro Ximénez for an elegant Spanish dessert pairing. The honey's warmth and the almond's subtle nuttiness shine brightest when followed by the wine's complex, slightly sweet finish.

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 5 / 5 from 1 reviews.

The USPS required a signature on the delivery. This was unknown to me. I had to drive 30+ mile to retrieve the item, vice delivery to my address.

Finca La Rosala Marcona Almonds with Rosemary – Roasted Spanish Snack – Pack of 2 (2 × 90g)

Store owner replied: Thank you for the five stars, James, and I'm sorry about that drive. Our parcels travel as tracked international post with Correos in Spain, and USPS takes over for delivery in the US. We don't ask for a signature when we post, but it turns out USPS releases these parcels against one. At most addresses that just means signing at the door; in your case the delivery didn't go through, so USPS held it at the nearest post office, and that cost you a long trip. The surprise is partly on us, so we're adding a clear line about it to our shipping information. We can't give you back the time, but to cover the fuel we'd like to offer you $15 off anything in the shop on your next order. - Mateo, Iberian Direct
