Ora et Labora's tomato jam is a Spanish preserve that bridges the line between condiment and delicacy. Made from ripe tomatoes reduced to a glossy, jammy consistency, it carries the natural sweetness of sun-ripened fruit without cloying sweetness. Unlike fruit jams, this spread has savory undertones — more umami than sugar — making it as much at home on a cheese board as it is spooned over roasted vegetables.

About this product

This is a shelf-stable Spanish conserve, bottled in glass and designed to keep in the pantry. Tomato jam has been a staple of Spanish and Mediterranean kitchens for generations, a way to capture summer's harvest in a jar. The Ora et Labora version reflects that tradition: simple ingredients, slow reduction, and the restraint to let tomato flavor speak first.

How to enjoy

  • Spread on toasted bread or crackers with soft cheese (goat, ricotta, burrata)
  • Pair alongside cured meats and olives on a charcuterie board
  • Dollop over roasted eggplant or grilled vegetables
  • Use as a glaze for roasted chicken or pork
  • Stir into plain yogurt with a pinch of sea salt for a quick dip

⭐ Why we love this

Ora et Labora's tomato jam embodies Spanish pantry wisdom — transforming summer's peak harvest into a sophisticated condiment that balances sweet and umami. This is no dessert spread; it's a savory-leaning preserve that honors the Mediterranean tradition of letting single ingredients shine through restraint and slow reduction.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Serve alongside a crisp, mineral Albariño or a dry Fino sherry, with aged Manchego or creamy burrata and jamón ibérico on a Spanish-style tabla. It's equally at home as a glaze for pork secreto or stirred into gazpacho for unexpected depth.

📍 From Spain

Ora et Labora sources from Spain's sun-drenched tomato regions, where the long Mediterranean growing season concentrates natural sugars and acidity. The brand's commitment to minimal processing and pure ingredients reflects the artisanal preserve-making traditions of Andalusia and Catalonia.

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 5 / 5 from 1 reviews.

The USPS required a signature on the delivery. This was unknown to me. I had to drive 30+ mile to retrieve the item, vice delivery to my address.

Store owner replied: Thank you for the five stars, James, and I'm sorry about that drive. Our parcels travel as tracked international post with Correos in Spain, and USPS takes over for delivery in the US. We don't ask for a signature when we post, but it turns out USPS releases these parcels against one. At most addresses that just means signing at the door; in your case the delivery didn't go through, so USPS held it at the nearest post office, and that cost you a long trip. The surprise is partly on us, so we're adding a clear line about it to our shipping information. We can't give you back the time, but to cover the fuel we'd like to offer you $15 off anything in the shop on your next order. - Mateo, Iberian Direct
