Migaya's Violeteras are a Spanish childhood memory in chocolate form. These crispy turrón bonbons—layered with nougat and roasted almond fragments, then coated in dark chocolate—have been a fixture in Spanish confectionery since the early 20th century. Each 180-gram box holds individually wrapped pieces, each one a balance of crunch and melt-in-the-mouth sweetness. They arrive in Migaya's classic violet-adorned packaging, instantly recognizable to anyone who grew up reaching for them at a kiosk or corner shop.

The turrón itself is a traditional nougat confection, combining toasted Spanish almonds with sugar and honey, then finished with a cocoa shell. Unlike the denser blocks of Christmas turrón, these bonbons are lighter and more approachable for everyday snacking. Violet branding refers to the brand's heritage color, not the flavor—these are pure hazelnut, almond, and chocolate.

How to enjoy

  • Keep a box at your desk or in a bag for an afternoon pick-me-up.
  • Pair with black coffee or a small glass of sweet sherry.
  • Share during Spanish film nights or gatherings with other expats.
  • Tuck into a travel gift bag for friends curious about Spanish sweets.

⭐ Why we love this

Migaya Violeteras are a masterclass in Spanish confectionery tradition—crispy turrón bonbons that capture the essence of what makes nougat special without the heaviness of brick-form turrón. The combination of toasted Spanish almonds, honey, and dark chocolate coating creates an addictive texture that explains why these have remained iconic since the early 1900s.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Enjoy these with a small glass of Pedro Ximénez sherry for an authentic Spanish afternoon treat, or pair with strong black coffee for contrast. They're also ideal alongside a cold vermouth and tonic during Spanish aperitivo hour.

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 5 / 5 from 1 reviews.

The USPS required a signature on the delivery. This was unknown to me. I had to drive 30+ mile to retrieve the item, vice delivery to my address.

Finca La Rosala Marcona Almonds with Rosemary – Roasted Spanish Snack – Pack of 2 (2 × 90g)

Store owner replied: Thank you for the five stars, James, and I'm sorry about that drive. Our parcels travel as tracked international post with Correos in Spain, and USPS takes over for delivery in the US. We don't ask for a signature when we post, but it turns out USPS releases these parcels against one. At most addresses that just means signing at the door; in your case the delivery didn't go through, so USPS held it at the nearest post office, and that cost you a long trip. The surprise is partly on us, so we're adding a clear line about it to our shipping information. We can't give you back the time, but to cover the fuel we'd like to offer you $15 off anything in the shop on your next order. - Mateo, Iberian Direct
