La Cala Selectas Olives Filled with Anchovies, Spanish Gourmet, Pack of 2 (2 × 150g)

La Cala's Selectas olives arrive hand-stuffed with anchovy fillets—a tapa that collapses the distance between a Basque pintxo bar and your kitchen. These are not mild cocktail olives, but a fully realized dish: briny, meaty olives paired with the mineral funk of cured anchovy, each bite a small argument between salt and umami that resolves in your favor.

Selectas indicates the top grade: only the largest, most uniform olives from Spain's olive-growing regions make the cut. The anchovy filling is a nod to the Cantabrian coast, where this pairing has been tradition for generations. The combination works because neither ingredient is timid—both announce themselves fully, neither drowning the other.

How to enjoy

• Pit and chop into a salad of winter greens and sherry vinegar.

⭐ Why we love this

La Cala Selectas represent the Spanish tapas tradition at its most uncompromising: hand-stuffed with Cantabrian anchovies, these are not garnishes but a complete dish. The Selectas grade guarantees only the largest, most flavorful olives, honoring the ancient pairing that Basque and Asturian cooks perfected generations ago.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Serve ice-cold with a crisp Fino sherry or a dry vermouth to amplify the briny-mineral character. They're equally at home alongside aged Manchego on a charcuterie board, or as a sophisticated addition to a Spanish aperitivo hour before dinner.
