Herpac Red Tuna from Almadraba, Spanish Conserva in Olive Oil 320g

Herpac's red tuna from the Almadraba fishery arrives in glass, bathed in olive oil and ready to elevate a simple plate. Almadraba tuna—caught seasonally off the southern Spanish coast using centuries-old net methods—carries a deeper, more mineral flavor than farmed or frozen alternatives. At 320 grams, this jar holds enough for a composed salad, a tapa spread, or a partner to your evening bread and wine.

About this product

The Almadraba season runs spring and early summer, when Atlantic bluefin tuna migrate through the Strait of Gibraltar. Herpac selects the finest red-flesh portions and preserves them in olive oil, keeping texture and color intact. The result is a conserva with the clean, briny character of the sea—no overwhelming salt, no metallic edge. Serve it at room temperature or slightly chilled; the oil itself becomes part of the eating experience.

How to enjoy

• Drain lightly and flake over a salad of white beans, red onion, and sherry vinegar.
• Spread on toasted bread with a squeeze of lemon for a classic Spanish tapa.
• Combine with diced tomato, capers, and fresh parsley for a quick pasta sauce.
• Eat directly from the jar with good bread and a glass of Albariño.

⭐ Why we love this

Almadraba tuna represents the pinnacle of Spanish seafood tradition—caught via methods unchanged since medieval times, this red-fleshed fish develops a complexity that industrial alternatives simply cannot match. Herpac's conserva respects the catch, preserving peak flavor in quality olive oil rather than masking it with excessive salt or additives.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Serve alongside a crisp Albariño from Rías Baixas—the wine's salinity and citrus brightness cut through the tuna's richness perfectly. Alternatively, pair with a chilled Fino sherry and crusty pan de pueblo for an authentic Spanish coast-inspired tapa experience.
