Centolla — the prized spider crab of Spain's northern coast — arrives in each 120-gram tin exactly as it should: in its own natural juices, without excess oil or heavy sauces. Felisa sources whole crab meat and packs it fresh, preserving the delicate, slightly sweet flavor that makes centolla a fixture on Galician and Asturian tables.

About this product

This is pure crab, simply prepared. The meat comes tender and ready to eat straight from the tin, suspended in its own broth. No filler, no complicated ingredients — just the crab itself. It's the kind of conserva that Spanish home cooks reach for when they want to elevate a simple dish without fuss: atop a slice of toast, folded into a rice, or dressed lightly with lemon and good olive oil.

How to enjoy

  • Serve chilled on toasted bread with a squeeze of fresh lemon.
  • Fold into warm rice or pasta with a touch of butter and parsley.
  • Mix into a simple potato salad or seafood empanada filling.
  • Plate alone as a tapa, accompanied by Albariño or dry sherry.

⭐ Why we love this

Centolla is Galicia's gold standard for canned seafood — a delicacy that demands respect through simplicity. Felisa's commitment to packing whole meat in natural juices honors the centuries-old tradition of Iberian conservas, where the ingredient itself, never the processing, takes center stage.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Serve this with a crisp, mineral Albariño from Rías Baixas or a pale Fino sherry — the wine's salinity mirrors the ocean essence of the crab. Perfect as a refined tapa alongside crusty pan de cristal and a few Arbequina olives.

📍 From Spain

Sourced from Galicia's northern Atlantic coast, where centolla fishing is a revered maritime tradition spanning generations. Felisa's selection process ensures only the finest specimens are preserved, maintaining the pristine quality that makes Galician seafood conservas prized throughout Spain and beyond.

Customer Reviews

The USPS required a signature on the delivery. This was unknown to me. I had to drive 30+ mile to retrieve the item, vice delivery to my address.

Finca La Rosala Marcona Almonds with Rosemary – Roasted Spanish Snack – Pack of 2 (2 × 90g)

Store owner replied: Thank you for the five stars, James, and I'm sorry about that drive. Our parcels travel as tracked international post with Correos in Spain, and USPS takes over for delivery in the US. We don't ask for a signature when we post, but it turns out USPS releases these parcels against one. At most addresses that just means signing at the door; in your case the delivery didn't go through, so USPS held it at the nearest post office, and that cost you a long trip. The surprise is partly on us, so we're adding a clear line about it to our shipping information. We can't give you back the time, but to cover the fuel we'd like to offer you $15 off anything in the shop on your next order. - Mateo, Iberian Direct
