Alicante turrón has been a Christmas tradition since the 19th century, and each 250-gram bar carries that heritage in every bite—hard, toasted almond nougat studded with whole almonds and bound in a delicate wafer.

About this product

Unlike its softer Jijona cousin, turrón de Alicante demands a sharp knife and patient teeth. The texture is brittle, almost crystalline, with a subtle caramel undertone and the clean snap of roasted Spanish almonds. Club del Gourmet sources this from respected confectioners in Alicante province, where the tradition remains unbroken. The result is authentic, uncomplicated, and deeply satisfying.

How to enjoy

  • Snap into pieces and serve with strong coffee or sweet dessert wine (Moscatel de Valencia pairs beautifully).
  • Gift-wrap a bar to anyone who remembers Spanish Christmas mornings.
  • Keep in a cool place and break off a piece whenever you need a moment of uncomplicated sweetness.

⭐ Why we love this

This is turrón de Alicante in its purest form—hard, honest, and unapologetically traditional. Club del Gourmet's selection honors the 19th-century Alicante confectioners who perfected this craft, delivering that signature brittle texture and toasted almond snap that defines authentic Spanish Christmas nougat.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Break off a piece with a small glass of Moscatel de Valencia—the wine's honeyed sweetness plays perfectly against the turrón's caramelized crunch. Alternatively, pair with strong espresso or black coffee for a contrast that cuts through the richness and enhances the roasted almond character.

Club del Gourmet works with respected local confectioners who maintain time-honored techniques, ensuring each bar carries the authentic flavor and texture that made Alicante nougat legendary across Spain and beyond.

Customer Reviews

The USPS required a signature on the delivery. This was unknown to me. I had to drive 30+ mile to retrieve the item, vice delivery to my address.

Finca La Rosala Marcona Almonds with Rosemary – Roasted Spanish Snack – Pack of 2 (2 × 90g)

Store owner replied: Thank you for the five stars, James, and I'm sorry about that drive. Our parcels travel as tracked international post with Correos in Spain, and USPS takes over for delivery in the US. We don't ask for a signature when we post, but it turns out USPS releases these parcels against one. At most addresses that just means signing at the door; in your case the delivery didn't go through, so USPS held it at the nearest post office, and that cost you a long trip. The surprise is partly on us, so we're adding a clear line about it to our shipping information. We can't give you back the time, but to cover the fuel we'd like to offer you $15 off anything in the shop on your next order. - Mateo, Iberian Direct
