Coloma García Artesanos Turrón a la Piedra, Handmade Alicante Nougat 300g

Coloma García Artesanos crafts turrón the way it has been made in Alicante for centuries — stone-ground, unhurried, with nothing but almonds, honey, and egg white. This turrón a la piedra is the harder, denser cousin of the creamy varieties, designed to be snapped into shards and savored slowly. Each bite carries the toasted nuttiness of quality Spanish almonds and the subtle floral notes of carefully selected honey.

About this product

Made in small batches using traditional methods, this artisanal turrón respects the simplicity of its ingredients. The stone-ground technique — which gives the product its name — creates a texture that is neither too brittle nor too chewy; it yields to the teeth with a satisfying crack. Unlike industrial turrón, you will taste the distinction between the almonds and the honey, not a uniform sweetness.

How to enjoy

• Break into pieces and enjoy as an afternoon sweet with coffee or Spanish brandy.
• Serve as a paleta (lollipop-style) after a meal, wrapped in its original paper.
• Crumble over vanilla ice cream for a simple dessert with texture.
• Pack as a gift — turrón is the classic souvenir from Alicante.

⭐ Why we love this

Coloma García Artesanos represents the uncompromising tradition of Alicante turrón-making — a craft protected by centuries of regional pride. The stone-ground method isn't merely nostalgia; it creates a distinctly superior texture and allows the individual character of Spanish almonds and honey to shine through, something impossible with industrial machines.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Snap a piece after dinner with a small glass of Pedro Ximénez sherry or Spanish brandy — the floral honey notes complement aged spirits beautifully. For a lighter option, pair with strong espresso or café cortado, allowing the turrón to dissolve slowly as you sip.

📍 From Spain

Born and made in Alicante, the birthplace of Spain's turrón tradition dating back to the 15th century. This region's limestone-rich terroir produces some of Europe's finest almonds, which Coloma García sources and stone-grinds in their family workshop, maintaining methods unchanged for generations.
