Cacao Sampaka, Barcelona's legendary chocolatier, pairs single-origin dark chocolate with Ibiza's prized fleur de sel in this elegant 75-gram tablet. The contrast is deliberate: deep cocoa notes meet the mineral snap of sea salt, creating a moment of quiet sophistication rather than sweetness. Each snap releases both flavors — the salt doesn't mask the chocolate, it amplifies it.

About this product

This is a dark chocolate tablet made with carefully selected cacao, finished with delicate crystals of fleur de sel harvested from Ibiza's salt ponds. The combination is classic in craft chocolate circles: salt heightens cocoa's complexity and prevents cloying sweetness. The result is a grown-up bar that rewards slow eating, whether after dinner with espresso or as a small luxury during an afternoon pause.

How to enjoy

  • Break a square and let it rest on your tongue before chewing, to feel the salt's role.
  • Pair with a strong coffee, espresso, or dry sherry.
  • Gift in its own right, or include in a curated selection for a Spanish food lover.
  • Melt gently over warm churros or into hot chocolate for a more indulgent moment.

⭐ Why we love this

Cacao Sampaka represents Barcelona's craft chocolate renaissance, and each bar epitomizes Spanish ingredient philosophy: two things of exceptional quality, nothing superfluous. The marriage of single-origin cacao with Ibiza's fleur de sel—harvested by hand from salt marshes that have fed Spanish tables for centuries—is restrained elegance, not novelty.

🍷 Pairing suggestion

Break a square alongside a glass of aged Oloroso sherry or a robust espresso for maximum sophistication. The salt's minerality bridges beautifully with both, while the cocoa's depth won't be overshadowed. For a lighter moment, pair with a dry amontillado or simply good strong coffee.

📍 From Spain

Born in Barcelona's artisan chocolate quarter, Cacao Sampaka sources its salt from Ibiza's centuries-old salt ponds—the same beds that once supplied medieval Mediterranean trade. This is collaboration between Spain's two coasts: Catalan chocolate mastery meets the mineral heritage of the Balearic islands.

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 5 / 5 from 1 reviews.

The USPS required a signature on the delivery. This was unknown to me. I had to drive 30+ mile to retrieve the item, vice delivery to my address.

Store owner replied: Thank you for the five stars, James, and I'm sorry about that drive. Our parcels travel as tracked international post with Correos in Spain, and USPS takes over for delivery in the US. We don't ask for a signature when we post, but it turns out USPS releases these parcels against one. At most addresses that just means signing at the door; in your case the delivery didn't go through, so USPS held it at the nearest post office, and that cost you a long trip. The surprise is partly on us, so we're adding a clear line about it to our shipping information. We can't give you back the time, but to cover the fuel we'd like to offer you $15 off anything in the shop on your next order. - Mateo, Iberian Direct
